Strategy and Setup
Like the previous shells, Plasma Shells have excellent shield energy and mass efficiency, even greater than that of the Harmonic Exophase Shield. They have a very low repair to health ratio unlike earlier shields and are therefore viable on low-repair ships.
The Plasma Shell is able to resist Plasma Damage, making it the first shield to be able to do so, making it extremely effective for NPC Fleet combat.
Plasma Shells take increased damage against all other damage types, making it only effective in PvE.
As there currently are no plasma weapons for players, this shield is useless in PvP.
- Hulls with active Plasma Shells glow with a pink coloration.
- Interestingly, this and the Xeno Shell are the only Shell shields without any special attributes. This is likely because they resist a damage type that is less commonly seen.
