General[]

The Piercing NET Torpedo is a modified NET Torpedo that can pierce through multiple ships.

Strategy and Setup[]

Advantages[]

Piercing NET Torpedoes have much greater slowing potential thanks to their piercing ability, allowing them to easily slow down multiple ships in a line even if they are not clustered together. They are an automatic substitute to normal NET Torpedoes as they do not cost any additional mass or resources.

Piercing NET Torpedoes can also surprisingly pack a punch, especially when equipped with AM Warheads etc., with each pierce causing an explosion that damages multiple ships within its area of effect.

Disadvantages[]

Piercing NET Torpedoes have poor accuracy absent the use of Volatile Fuel, similar to the regular version. They are also unable to slow down fleeing ships and are strictly a kiting weapon.

Trivia[]

  • The Piercing NET Torpedo looks identical to NET Torpedo I-III.
  • The Piercing NET Torpedo was actually slated for a release along with the Brutal ECHO Ray as indicated here: [1], but its release was canceled, most likely because the weapon would probably be too overpowered.
